About This Programme
Diplomate of National Board (DNB) is a Postgraduate Master’s degree same as an MD/MS degree awarded to Specialist Doctors in India after completing a three-year residency. DNB courses are run and the degrees are awarded by the National Board of Examinations (NBE), New Delhi, an autonomous academic body under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India to the candidates on successful completion of their postgraduate residency.

Clinical Foundations
- Basic and applied optics, refraction, and clinical examination
- Ocular anatomy, physiology, and pathology
- High-volume OPD training — 80+ patients daily
- Minor surgical procedures and first-assist training
- Community outreach orientation and rural camp participation
Surgical Competency
- Independent cataract surgical training (MSICS and phacoemulsification)
- Anterior segment, cornea, and glaucoma management
- Paediatric ophthalmology OPD and surgical exposure
- NBE theory module preparation and case records
- Research methods, case reports, and academic presentations
Advanced Practice & Research
- Advanced surgical rotations — retina, vitreoretinal, oculoplasty
- Subspecialty OPD responsibilities with faculty supervision
- NBE dissertation / thesis submission and viva preparation
- Teaching, mentoring, and case presentation responsibilities
- Capstone audit and quality improvement project

Eligibility & Selection
Eligibility Criteria
- 1MBBS degree from a recognised institution with completed rotating internship
- 2Valid NEET-PG score and NBE registration eligibility
- 3Age below 35 years at time of application (relaxable for reserved categories)
- 4No active academic backlogs at time of application
